Reminder of NW training tomorrow: The McLean District Station, 1437 Balls Hill Rd, McLean VA 22101, will be hosting a Basic Neighborhood Watch training class on Tuesday January 29th at 11AM-12PM and 630PM-730PM in the station's community room. Some neighborhoods may be more susceptible to crime than others, however, everyone should consider a Neighborhood Watch Program. No matter what type of neighborhood: condominium, garden apartment, townhome, or single family home, the benefits are numerous. They include: Prevention of Crime, Greater Awareness of Crime, Reporting of Suspicious Activities, Serves as a Warning to Criminals and promotes good neighbors. Everyone is welcome. Welcome to the HOA/CA Leaders Forum.  The goal of the forum is to provide a networking tool for Homeowners and Civic Associations to discuss and collaborate on issues impacting your neighborhoods as well as issues impacting the MCA community at large.  You have been selected to participate in the HOA/CA Leaders Forum as you have indicated an interest in HOA/CA management or have been identified as an HOA/CA leader. 

Safe communities are a number one goal for all communities.  Many of the neighborhood watch programs that relied on volunteers cruising the neighborhood have gone by the wayside but have been replaced by on-line programs.   We would like to start a conversation about steps communities have taken to secure their neighborhoods. 

If you have a neighborhood watch/safety program, we would like you to share your experiences.  A watch program can be as simple as an online community list serve or as labor intensive as roving patrols.  Respond and let us know the strengths of your program, best practices and ideas on how we can share information with our neighboring communities
