This is an update for the MCA Board and Committee members regarding the MCA’s annual I Love McLean event. As most of you are aware, the 2024 event will be held on Saturday, March 2, at the McLean Community Center (MCC).
I asked Raj to send out a sign-up Genuis and I hope you are volunteering for the open opportunities to support this event. Each year the Board and Committee Chair and members donate finger-food desserts such as cookies, brownies, and fruits, etc. (Please no cakes or pies). I thank you in advance as they are always delicious.
Our co-hosts this year are the MCC, the Friends of the MCC, The McLean Project for the Arts (MPA), McLean Community Foundation (MCF), McLean Revitalization Corporation (MRC), Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, and McLean Historical Society. The Fairfax County Police Department, Fire and Rescue Department, and McLean Volunteer Fire Department will also support this event.
If you have any specific VIPs you are planning to invite, please advise Linda Walsh and myself so they can be acknowledged. I have not received any such information as of this date (February 19, 2024).
As always, Committee Chairs are requested to support the MCA membership table to inform guests about each committee and the value of belonging to MCA. Please plan to be available to help increase awareness and our membership.
A copy of the event agenda is below and may change slightly during the activity. Also below is a copy of the updated invitation with the correct start time of 1 pm.

Event agenda:
Set-up – 10:30 until 12:45
1. 1: 15 – 1:20. Welcome
2. 1:20 - Color Guard Entry and Centennial presentation and Acknowledge VIPs
3. 1:35 - Event theme and introduction of the co-hosts for the 2024 I Love McLean event ( 6 or 8 will speak)
4. 2:00 - Dance Troupe
5. 2:20 – Acknowledge Committee chairs and invite all to eat, drink, and socialize with neighbors and organizations. Plus, invite guests to participate at the MPA arts and crafts table.
6. 2:30 - 4:30 – Socializing and Networking
Clean-up -- 4:30 until 6 pm.
