people to report any unusual activity or vehicle in your neighborhood to include make, model and license plate number. This is particularly useful, when the license plate readers installed by the Police Department and/or communities pick up these vehicles in regions where multiple crimes have been reported.
Police Officer Carolyn Beyer, Crime Prevention Officer, urged people to protect their home by using home security alarms, if installed, and making their home look occupied. She noted that the Police Department offers free home security inspections. To arrange for an inspection, call the McLean District non-emergency number – (703) 691-2131.
Captain Carolyn Kinney, Station Commander, answered questions regarding panhandlers, cooperation between other Fairfax District Stations and localities to catch various gangs that target the DMV, officer staffing and many other issues.
