This option for the B1 residential tower is 48 feet taller than the previously approved plan. Under both options, the buildings will follow the already approved design with towers located at either end of a retail/parking podium. The applicant has incorporated step backs and carveouts in B1 to articulate its mass and mitigate potential impacts on views from the surrounding area.
Two concerns about the proposed amendment were considered by MCA. The Verse Condominium Association raised concerns over the increased height of the residential tower option and the proposed massing of the B1 office building. County Staff expressed over the lack of a pocket park in the proposed plans. As part of its Resolution, the MCA urges the Applicant’s consideration of the County request for a pocket park and the concerns raised by the Verse Condominium Association.
