I have served as an MCA At-Large Board Member since 2011. Currently I serve as the MCA Public Safety Liaison and am a member of the Membership Committee. Previously, I served as the MCA liaison to the McLean Community Center and Vice Chair of the Membership Committee.
As the Public Safety Liaison, I have arranged Public Safety Forums that allowed MCA members to meet and ask questions of the Fairfax County Police and Fire Chiefs, McLean District Station Leaders, Fairfax County Attorney General, and other public safety employees. Additionally, I have organized informational forums on Crime Trends and Prevention Methods, Emergency Preparedness, Panel Discussion on Criminal Justice Reform. and Senior Safety Forums. Recently, I partnered with the MCA Budget and Taxation Committee to prepare a resolution focused on Fairfax County Police Officer retention. That resolution was passed by the MCA Board of Directors on October 6, 2022.
The MCA is continually engaged in self-government by its Board Members and is making a difference in our McLean Community. I urge everyone to join! At a minimum you will be kept apprised of events/issues that impact our community. If you are more of a hands-on type of person, consider working on one of our committees to help shape policy going forward.
