Published on 12/5/2022
On November 30, 2022, the McLean Citizens Association held a public meeting virtually on Zoom with Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) Director, Tom Biesiadny.  Mr. Biesiadny was appointed FCDOT Director in 2011 and has worked for the Department for 34 years.  At the well-attended meeting, the Director responded to multiple questions from members of the MCA Transportation Committee and other residents on pending and planned transportation projects and initiatives in and affecting the greater McLean area.  Topics of discussion included:  anticipated pedestrian/bicyclist-oriented improvements within the greater Mclean area; planned intersection improvements along Dolley Madison Boulevard from Anderson Road to Old Dominion Drive; planning to increase pedestrian access and promote pedestrian safety near the WMATA project in West Falls Church; planned traffic and sidewalk improvements at the intersection of Balls Hill Road and Old Dominion Drive; plans for possible improvement of the intersection and traffic flow at Lewinsville Road and Spring Hill Road; and concerns about safety considerations relating to the current work being done at the intersection of Shreve Road, Haycock Road and Route 7.  You can see Mr. Biesiadny’s PowerPoint presentation by clicking the following link: FCDOT Presentation at MCA Meeting-Nov. 30, 2022.  To see a video of the meeting, please click here:  FCDOT Forum 2022-11-30.
