FCDOT DIRECTOR BRIEFS TYSONS TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS AND PRIORITIES

On May 13, 2021, Tom Biesiadny, Director of Fairfax County’s Department of Transportation (FCDOT), briefed the Greater Tysons Citizens Coalition (GTCC) and MCA’s Transportation Committee on transportation projects and priorities in and around Tysons. Topics covered during the briefing included: the status of major Tysons transportation projects in Tables 7 and 7B of the Tysons Comprehensive Plan; the status of the Neighborhood Intersection studies called for under the Tysons Comprehensive Plan; the status of Phase II of the Silver Line metro (99% complete), with service expected following WMATA Board approval (est. 1Q 2022); and contemplated increases in bus service.
