Citizens Coalition Briefed on Planning Commission Schools Report.
On January 23, the Greater Tysons Citizens Coalition (GTCC) was briefed by Planning Commissioners John Ulfelder (Dranesville) and Phillip Niezielski-Eichner on the Planning Commissioner's recommendations to the Board of Supervisors related to land-use and non-land use school infrastructure issues. The recommendations were the product of a joint work program, endorsed in October 2016, by the Board of Supervisors and School Board to develop recommendations doe collaboration between the two boards on shared priorities. The recommendations focus on the topics of Long-Range Student Population Forecasting, School Proffers, Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Recommendations, Co-Location of Facilities, Equity and Access, and Economic Development. following a unanimous vote of Planning Commissioners on January 8, they were sent to the Board of supervisors, with a request that the Board authorize advertisement to the Public Facilities and Economic Development sections of the Policy Plan element of the Comprehensive Plan for Fairfax County.
