Interest in the activities of the MCA Membership Committee. See also the Membership Committee General Discussion Forum on the MCA Website.

This Interest is to support collaboration on tools and techniques to help MCA conduct not-in-person (virtual) meetings, events, etc. Members of this Interest are automatically members of the Virtual MCA Forum.

Small cells are seen as the building blocks of 5G networks, and carriers say the most time-consuming part of deploying small cells is working with city governments and permitting authorities. Many different decision-makers within a jurisdiction may have input when it comes to small cells, and the result can be a series of lengthy negotiations. That's why some companies are pushing state lawmakers to pass legislation the pre-empts some local authority over small cell siting and fees.

According to the County's announcement, "the Virginia General Assembly passed Senate Bill 1578, which gives localities the authority to require registration of Short-Term Rentals. As a result, the Board of Supervisors directed the creation of a working group to draft zoning regulations for Short-Term Rentals in the County and to establish a registry of Short-Term Rentals. In proposing Short-Term Rental regulations to the Board, the working group seeks to balance residents' interests to protect the character of their neighborhood with the interests of persons wanting to operate Short-Term Rentals within their residence."
