Joint meeting of the GTCC and P&Z with Fairfax County staff on the County's Tysons Office-Designated Areas Study.  The study revisits the 2010 Tysons Comprehensive Plan guidance for the areas currently designated only for office zoning. 

Recording of GTCC meeting with personnel from the Fairfax County Police Department and Fire Department regarding to discuss public safety in McLean, Tysons, and Fairfax County.  Key points addressed included: (1) The continued drop in crime both in our area (McLean and Tysons) and county-wide; (2) How new technologies are helping to reduce crime, cut fire and emergency medical response times and severity; and (3) Ways we all can be force multipliers for public safety.

This meeting video is a presentation by representatives of the Sweetgreen Restaurant in the Chesterbrook Shopping Center which is planning to open a drive-thru window at the restaurant.

The meeting dealt with the following issues: (1) a Conceptual Development Plan for the Mile; (2) a presentation on proposals for amending the Zoning Ordinance concerning Accessory Living Units; (3) an update on the Tysons A (Greensboro) Residential Towers project; (4) the McLean CBC Annual Residential Development Report; (5) a letter to the Board of Supervisors on the 1368  Beverly Road Residential Development.

Discussion with Suzianne Battista, Fairfax County Urban Centers Section of the Department of Planning and Development, and staff.  Topics covered included an update to the Tysons Tracker and discussion of challenges, opportunities, and implementation now and in the future. 

The meeting dealt with the following topics: (1) A presentation on the proposed Corso at Tysons Senior Living facility; (2) a draft letter on the Plan Forward, Policy Plan Amendment’s Land Use Element; and, (3) a draft letter on the Board of Supervisors 2026 Legislative Program regarding a casino in Tysons.

Presentations on the Spring Hill Reserve and the McLean CBC Beverly and Elm Residential Development projects; a resolution on the 7600A Leesburg Pike townhouse development; the proposed Electrical Substations Zoning Ordinance Amendment; Status reports on the Giant Shopping Center, Onelife Fitness Center Residential Towers, the Arbor Row Hotel and Condos project; and the Pimmit Hills Gas Pipeline Issue. 

The June 24, 2025 meeting of the Planning and Zoning Committee dealt with the following topics: Presentations on Volume I, Urban Design Guidelines 2025 Update; New Multifamily Residential Development at 8250 Greensboro Drive in Tysons; Conclusion of the Site-Specific Plan Amendment Process; Plan Forward: Draft Land Use Element Policy Plan; Pimmit Hills Natural Pipeline Project Update
