MCA Sponsors Hands-Only CPR Training Course
Published on 1/13/2025
At the January 8th program, the McLean Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) showed how to administer hands-only CPR to people who may be suffering from a heart attack. Hands-only CPR is a simplified form of CPR that focuses on chest compressions without rescue breaths. Recommended for use by people who witness an adult suddenly collapse in an out-of-hospital setting, it can help gain precious time for a person experiencing a cardiac event by maintaining blood flow to vital organs. It is easy to learn and perform. The MVFD also provided training on how to use a defibrillator AED device, which are found in many public buildings. Our thanks to the brave members of the MVFD for taking the time to provide this valuable training.
