Action Taken at the May 3, MCA Board of Directors Meeting, New Videos and Upcoming Events:  A recording of the meeting is posted on MCA's Home Page in the Video Library.

On May 3, the MCA Board acted on proposals from the Membership Committee to permit discounted membership dues on multi-year membership renewals.  The Board approved a change to the MCA's Policies & Procedures Manual to add language authorizing the Membership Committee the authority to offer reduced annual dues for those members who pay for multiple years of membership.  Having done so, the Board approved a revised dues structure for multi-year memberships.  Prior to these changes, a three-year membership cost $45 and a five-year membership cost $75.  Now, they will cost $40 and $60, respectively.  It is the hope that the reduced prices for multi-year membership purchases will induce a greater number thereof.  To read the proposal from the Membership Committee, click here.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT - BRIAN SHAHKARAMI

How long have you lived in Mclean? Why did you move to McLean?
I have lived in McLean for 13 Years. I moved to McLean mainly because of schools and closeness to DC. At the time I was involved with U.S. Government. contracts.

What is your professional/work and educational background?
Professional - Engineer-Electrical and I have a master’s in engineering management.

How long have you been an MCA member?
Since 2015

What is the value of being an MCA member?
The best value is that it keeps me informed about my government at work, my surroundings and my neighborhood and the state of things in general. The second most important thing is that I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with a very dedicated group of folks who devote a lot of time in their quest for the betterment of our community. I can honestly say that I don’t know of a finer group of people anywhere. This group is scarce to find in other parts of the country.
