Resolution: Boro Extension - Tysons
On September 1, 2021, the MCA Board approved a Resolution on the Boro Extension in Tysons.  The proposed development includes residential buildings with ground floor retail/service uses,  a continuing care facility, and either a health club or a townhome community depending on market circumstances. Click on - News / Articles to read the MCA news article and on Boro Extension Resolution to access the approved resolution.
 
MCA Board of Directors to Address the Draft Fairfax County Strategic Plan
On September 1, 2021, the MCA Board of Directors was briefed on the draft Fairfax County Strategic Plan.  The draft Strategic Plan is a first ever vision plan for County priorities for the next 10 to 20 years and will include strategies and metrics to advance and measure progress toward the vision over the initial period of the next 3 to 5 years.  MCA committees will review the draft Strategic Plan and prepare a resolution for consideration by the MCA Board of Directors on October 6, 2021.  A copy of the 56-page draft Strategic Plan is available on the County website at: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/strategicplan/.  Supervisor Foust will host an information session on the draft plan on Wednesday, September 15th from 7 – 8:30 p.m.  Use this link To register, click here.
 
McLean 5K Run - October 2, 2021

The McLean 5K is back!  The proceeds from McLean 5K will benefit the McLean Community Foundation, our MCA-founded charity that supports all things McLean, from fire trucks to playgrounds to social services. For more than 35 years, MCF grants have enhanced the quality of life in McLean, encouraged civic spirit and supported community projects that we all value.  Please join the events partners -  the McLean Community Center, Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce and Century 21 New Millennium - in support of the McLean Community Foundation.   For more information and registration click on McLean 5K | MCFoundation (mcfonline.org).

October 6, at 7:30 - Monthly Board of Directors Meeting
MCA will continue to meet virtually.  The meeting will be livestreamed on the MCA Facebook page -  McLean Citizens Association | Facebook.  Our guest speaker will be Mr. Daniel Singh, Executive Director, McLean Community Center.  The Board will consider a resolution on the draft Fairfax County Strategic Plan (see article above for links to the draft plan).

October 19, 2021 at 7:00  - Changing Neighborhoods:  Understanding Infill Development and Tree Canopy Loss at the McLean Community Center, Alden Theater.  Sponsored by MCA and the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce.
  
This forum will highlight and explain the reasons and challenges concerning infill development and the corresponding effect on tree canopy. Meeting will be held at the McLean Community Center or you can watch the livestreamed event on our Facebook page - McLean Citizens Association | Facebook.  There will be a question and answer period at the end of the program.
