GTCC Weighs in on Proposed County WDU Policy Changes

Sally K Horn | Published on 2/10/2021
In a letter dated January 27, 2021, the Greater Tysons Citizens Coalition (GTCC) advised the County's Planning Commission that it supported the proposed revisions to the County's policy guidance for for-rent Workforce Dwelling Units (WDUs). The letter stated that the GTCC considered the approach a reasonable way to increase the amount of new for-rent housing in Tysons and elsewhere for households who are unable to afford market rate while enabling developers and owners to secure a sustainable return on investment. The GTCC also endorsed the proposal for reviewing the changes after 5 years. After making minor modifications to the County staff proposal, the Planning Commission sent it on to the Board of Supervisors (BOS). The BOS hearing is set for February 23.
