MCA supports the Capital One application for changed use of a HQ campus building

Although Capitol One had previously obtained approval to use a building at its headquarters campus near the McLean Metro Station as a hotel, it applied to change the purpose to a new office building.  The new building, which is currently under construction, would include conference and dining rooms, a parking structure and 9,900 square feet of ground floor retail space, and would increase the building size by up to 59,826 square feet.  There would be no change to the streetscape of the campus, including grid of streets, vehicular and pedestrian access and public open space, nor the phasing of the development of the campus, and the development is predicted to have a minor impact on traffic.  In May 2020, the MCA Board of Directors issued a resolution in support of the application, after determining that Capital One has reasonable grounds for its request and has demonstrated that the application was consistent with the vision of the Tysons Comprehensive Plan.
