          as an unofficial town council for the residents of the McLean Area, which has no governmental structure of its own.
          MCA has provided a forum for McLean area residents to have a voice in resolving community problems and
          county-wide issues affecting the area.

MCA Seeks Transparency on 2017 Shooting of McLean Resident by Park Service

At its monthly Meeting on November 7th, the Board of the McLean Citizens Association approved a Resolution urging the National Park Service and the FBI to make public the results of their investigations of the fatal shooting one year ago of McLean resident Bijan Ghaisar by U.S.Park Service Police officers.
MCA Urges Resolution to Keep Claude Moore Colonial Farm Open

On September 5, 2018, the Board of Directors of the McLean Citizens Association approved a Resolution urging the National Park Service and the Friends of the Claude Moore Colonial Farm at Turkey Run, Inc. to reach agreement so that this valuable facility will continue to be available to the community.

On October 23rd, the MCA hosted a debate featuring the candidates for the VA House of Delegates for the 34th District: Incumbent Kathleen Murphy and Cheryl Buford.
The debate was well attended and gave local residents an opportunity to see and learn from these candidates.

FCC Adopts New Rules on Wireless Facilities - Removes State & Local Roadblocks

On 9/26/18, the FCC adopted new rules that will streamline & limit local review of applications to construct small cells for 5G wireless technology and to restrict excessive fees imposed by state and local governments.

MCA Looking at Short-Term Rental Regulation

The P&Z Committee of the MCA is beginning to focus on possible County regulation of short-term rentals (e.g., via Airbnb.) MCA urges McLean area residents to provide their views by responding to an on-line survey now being conducted by the County.
